Yes. A color rendering index (CRI) is a quantitative measure of the ability of a light source to reveal the colors of various objects faithfully in comparison with an ideal or natural light source. CRI R9 is one of the test color samples (TCS) used in the calculation of extended CRI. It describes the specific ability of light to accurately reproduce the red color of objects measured on a scale of 0~100, the higher, the better. The white light is produced and mixed in a blue LED with a yellow phosphor coating, while the lack of the red light will have a negative influence on CRI. As result, the formula adjustment of phosphor (additional red phosphor needed) becomes necessary for higher CRI, but in this case, it will lead to lower quantum efficiency overall, the volume of white light after adjustment is less than the one in the status of pure yellow phosphor, which means decreased lumen output.
